Hey!
Here’s your by-weekly 4 minute read to kick-start your week!
A quote that inspired me:
“The cure for boredom is curiosity. There is no cure for curiosity.” – Dorothy Parker
This one hit me. We often fear burnout, but we rarely talk about the slow drain of boredom — the kind that creeps in when you’re coasting, not challenged, or disconnected from your purpose. Curiosity keeps the fire alive. It’s what makes the work exciting again.
A life hack: How to break out of boredom and reignite your fire
Boredom isn’t always a lack of activity. Sometimes, it’s a sign you’ve outgrown your environment, your habits, or your goals. Here’s how to shake it off and reclaim your spark:
Identify your “stuck zone”
Where do you feel the most disengaged? A specific task? A project? Your routine? Pinpoint it. You can’t shift what you don’t name.
Inject micro-challenges
You don’t need to quit your job or start over to find excitement. Set mini-challenges for yourself — whether it’s improving a process, learning a new skill, or doing something differently this week.
Follow your curiosity, not just your calendar
Make room for exploring what interests you — even if it’s not urgent. Read that book, take that course, message that person. Boredom fades when curiosity leads.
Say “hell yes” or “no”
If something feels like a “meh,” it’s probably draining you. Start saying no to things that dull your energy — and yes to what actually sparks it.
Change your environment
Sometimes it’s not you — it’s your surroundings. Switch up your workspace, your schedule, or the people you collaborate with. Energy is contagious. So is boredom.
What’s on my mind:
This topic came up for me after talking to someone at an event last week. He wasn’t burned out, but he looked tired. Not physically — mentally. Just… bored.
And I get it. We glamorize hustle and overwork, but boredom can be just as dangerous. It creeps in when you’re too good at what you do, when you’re no longer challenged, or when you’re playing it safe for too long. It’s the silent killer of ambition.
But here’s the thing: if you’re bored, it doesn’t mean you’re broken. It means you’re ready for a new level.
Boredom is a sign. A signal that you’re meant for more.
Not more work, but more meaning. More challenge. More aliveness.
Let that stir something.
Enjoy your week!
